Clothing Care Guide

Proper care keeps your wardrobe looking sharp and lasting longer. Follow these simple guidelines to maintain the quality and appearance of your garments.

1. Cotton & Linen Care

Cotton and linen are breathable, natural fibers that are comfortable and easy to care for.

Washing

  • Machine wash in cold or warm water (max 30–40°C) with similar colors.

  • Use a mild detergent; avoid bleach or optical brighteners.

  • Turn garments inside out to protect prints or dark colors.

  • For linen, gentle cycle is recommended to reduce wrinkling.

Drying

  • Air dry whenever possible. Hang or lay flat away from direct sunlight.

  • Tumble dry on low heat if needed, but remove promptly to minimize wrinkles.

  • Cotton may shrink slightly; preshrunk fabrics are less likely to change size.

Ironing

  • Iron cotton while slightly damp on medium-high heat.

  • Linen is best ironed with steam on high heat, preferably while still damp.

  • Use a pressing cloth for dark fabrics to avoid shine.

2. Wool & Cashmere Care

Wool and cashmere are luxurious, insulating fibers that require gentle handling.

Washing

  • Dry clean is recommended for structured suits, coats, and fine knits.

  • For washable wool, use cold water (max 30°C) and a wool-specific detergent.

  • Do not wring or twist; gently squeeze out excess water.

  • Hand wash is safer than machine for delicate items.

Drying

  • Lay flat on a clean towel to dry, reshaping gently.

  • Never hang wool or cashmere when wet, as it can stretch.

  • Avoid direct heat or sunlight; dry away from radiators.

Storage

  • Fold knits and sweaters to prevent stretching on hangers.

  • Store with cedar blocks or lavender sachets to repel moths.

  • Brush lightly with a garment brush to remove pilling and dust.

3. Synthetic & Blended Fabrics (Polyester, Nylon, Elastane)

These materials are durable, wrinkle-resistant, and easy to maintain.

Washing

  • Machine wash in cold or warm water (max 40°C) with similar colors.

  • Use a regular detergent; avoid fabric softeners which can degrade elastane.

  • Turn inside out to reduce friction and pilling.

Drying

  • Tumble dry on low heat or air dry.

  • Remove from dryer promptly to prevent static cling.

  • Do not iron synthetic fabrics; use a low-heat steam setting if necessary.

General Tips

  • Always check the care label inside the garment.

  • Treat stains immediately by blotting (not rubbing) with a mild soap solution.

  • Store clean items in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.

  • Rotate your wardrobe to reduce wear on frequently worn pieces.
